Introducing the US Army Prototype FMC XR-311

Описание к видео Introducing the US Army Prototype FMC XR-311

I just received this FMC XR-311 Prototype into my shop to do a Go-Thru on it for a customer in New Jersey. In the late 1960's the US Army wanted to sideline the old Jeeps that they had been using since 1942. They wanted to make a Fast Attack Vehicle that would be able to move quickly through any type of terrain. This particular XR-311 was built in 1972 it is number 3 of 10 made and tested. There are only 5 known XR's left in the world two are in Japan, one is in a military vehicle museum another is on a US Army base as a static display and this one is the only running one.
Stay tuned for more videos on this as I repair leaks, fix the front suspension, hopefully install a front driveshaft disconnect, redo some of the interior to make it more authentic. This is the father of what became the Humvee.
