Why would a 99 Arcane Build need Nourishing gems, you ask?
Well, if you're doing a 99 Arcane Build and "Really" want to use the Holy Moonlight Sword, then "some" of you might want Nourishing gems for optimization all attacks. In this case, the best nature secondary at Isz is +15 flat Arcane for you. As for Waning one from Loran, flat Arcane is not native, so whatever you like is good. Another choice of gemset is Two Cold One Arcane to maximize Arcane Beam Attack like R2.

But I have to warn you, HMS is more a hybrid weapon, with low STR and SKL, the R1 attack would be really *terrible*, any Arcane Conversion Weapon can easily outperform its R1 in terms of damage per hit and DPS, only strong attacks of HMS like L2, R2, Charged R2 are worth using due to their high Arcane damage modifier. However, these attacks cost you a lot of stamina, consider you're doing a 99 Arcane build, it's unlikely that you can have 30+ END, thus you have to be really careful about stamina management.

If you really want an Arcane weapon, Kos Parasite, Logarius Wheel or any Arcane Conversion weapon would be overall a more practical choice, especial conversion weapons if you want DPS.

That said, HMS on a 99 Arcane Build is not all that bad if you can manage stamina well. DPS isn't the only thing that matters, HMS in this case has L2 for knockdown and long reach hitbox with arguably wide hitbox for a thrust attack. As for R2 and Charged R2, despite unlike tools which don't cost stamina, the projectile of HMS has a very good Damage/Bullet ratio even better than tools. These strong attacks do take you a lot stamina and thus can't have great DPS on the 99 Arcane build, but they do shine if your use them wisely depending on the situation. Just don't expect good R1 damage in this case.
