Yams grown in New Zealand originate from the South American Andes where they are known as oca.

The sweet tubers are small, often about the size of a thumb, are pink-orange in colour and have a slightly shiny and ribbed surface. Other sweeter, slightly smaller varieties, coloured yellow, apricot and golden are available.

New Zealand yams are different from the tropical yams grown in other cultures. In America, and therefore in American recipe books, the vegetables known as ‘yams’ are in fact sweet potatoes similar to Beauregard kūmara. (Vegetable New Zealand)

Ingredients:

500g yams
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
2 Tbsp honey
1/2 Tbsp Salt
1/2 Tbsp Black Pepper

Method:

Preheat air fryer 180°C for 5 mins.
Toss all ingredients together in a dish until yams are well coated.
Cook in preheated air fryer for 25 minutes, or until tender.
Place in serving dish and serve warm.

2湯匙橄欖油
2湯匙蜂蜜
1/2湯匙鹽
1/2湯匙黑胡椒


烹飪方法:

將空氣炸鍋180°C預熱5分鐘。

在預熱的空氣炸鍋中煮25分鐘,或直至變軟。
