In 1990, Musto collaborated with fellow New York DJ Frankie Bones under the moniker "Musto and Bones," producing the club hit "Dangerous on the Dance Floor". This partnership marked the beginning of Musto's prolific career as a producer and remixer.


Throughout the 1990s, Musto became one of the most in-demand remixers in the business. He worked on tracks for mainstream artists like Michael Jackson, Gloria Estefan, and Celine Dion, bringing his signature underground sound to pop music. His remixes were known for their innovative production techniques and ability to transform tracks into dancefloor anthems.


As a producer, Musto was instrumental in developing the New York house sound. He co-founded influential labels like Fourth Floor Records and Sub-Urban, which became incubators for emerging talent in the dance music scene. His productions under various aliases helped define the sound of early American techno and rave music.


Musto's impact extended beyond New York, as he became one of the first American DJs to achieve international acclaim. He regularly toured Europe and other parts of the world, spreading the New York house sound globally.
