Railfanning T26-Sugar Land-Richmond-Rosenberg 9/29/24 (ft. lots of action)

A great day to go railfanning! The sun was shining, it was about 85 degrees outside, and humidity was low, making for prime weather conditions! The rail action was good, too! A productive last Sunday of September to say the least!

Train 1: A UP gravel train heads east at Tower 26.

Train 2: A UP manifest heads north at Tower 26 with a bad driver going around the gates.

Train 3: Amtrak number 2, the Sunset Limited, heads north at Tower 26.

Train 4: After the Amtrak, I went towards Rosenberg. On the way there, I caught a UP stack train with a pair of GEVO’s heading east on the Glidden Sub at Sugar Land.

Train 5: Another UP gravel train heads east on the Glidden Sub, this gravel train bring at Richmond. And wow, that new UP paint scheme really pops on a sunny day!

Train 6: I went on to Rosenberg after catching my second UP gravel train at Richmond. Soon as I get there, A BNSF coal train running 3x3 with a KCS ACe as the last DPU heads south on the Galveston Sub. Quite a big consist for one of the BNSF coal trains I saw today.

Train 7: Probably my catch of the day. CPKC I181 with a Beaver ACu leader heads east on the Glidden Sub.
