A political blame game has erupted in Tamil Nadu following a stampede at a TVK party rally in Karur that resulted in 41 deaths. Actor-turned-politician Vijay's TVK has approached the Madras High Court, seeking a probe by the CBI or a Special Investigative Team into the incident, alleging a conspiracy. The party also filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission. TVK chief Vijay questioned why the incident happened only in Kuru and stated, "if they want to take revenge, they can target him, but not his people." The Stalin government counters that TVK violated regulations set for the rally.
