SOLVED!
Setting the saw to "ON", having someone carefully hold the saw against a work table, brake off, with throttle fully depressed...and then pulling hard and in rapid succession eventually started the saw. After some carb tuning*, it now runs and idles and starts after a few pulls. Since the saw was brand new and 'dry', I suspect it just needed to run once correctly to get fuel in all the right spots. Now the saw starts up and rips! Will post an updated video if requested.

*If you are new to this saw, I would recommend removing the air filter and looking at the LA directly at the carb to understand how it works, then set it so it just barely touches the throttle. Note which way you turn the LA to increase idle throttle, and once you get the saw running, let it come down, but blip it before it stalls...quarter turn of the LA, and repeat until the saw idles on it's own.

Checked carb operation, all flaps look good and functioning properly
Nothing blocking the air intake, filter is brand new

After a pull or two, the saw becomes VERY hard to pull. I’m a big guy, and the thing “locks up” although I can pull through it (slowly).

I’ve let it sit with the spark plug out to evaporate any leftover fuel.

I’ve tried starting it with full throttle. Brake on and off. Tried it with carb starter…nothing seems to work.

While I am new to big saws like this, I have a bunch of 2 stroke lawn equipment I’ve kept running over the years, so I have some limited experience.

I ordered a new NGK spark plug and will give it a try and report back.
