Spider-Man homemade suit tutorial and review

Описание к видео Spider-Man homemade suit tutorial and review

I finally made the review I promised :) It's about my spidey suit, based on Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 suit. I'm sorry for the wrong pronunciation of "sew" and "sewing"...

Before you start using this technique:
THIS TECHNIQUE IS NOT VERY DURABLE!
The webbing breaks quite easily unfortunately. I experienced that the webbing gets less flexible over time.

STEP BY STEP RAIMI SUIT:
-Draw the red panels you need on the red bodysuit. I recommend putting it on and drawing it onto the suit while wearing it so you know where the pannels will be when the fabric is stretched.
-Cut out your pannels and sew them onto the blue bodysuit. I cut off the gloves of the blue bodysuit, because I didn't want to have them underneath the red glove.
-Make a pattern for the webbing. I laid the bodysuit flat and folded a see through paper over the bodysuit to draw the pattern.
-Lay out your pattern and cover it with cling film.
-Cut a square shape out of the plastic bag you are using as a piping bag.
-Mix some gel medium with a little bit of gray paint.
-Put the mixture in the piping bag and go over you pattern. After a few hours the paint will be dry and ready to be glued onto the suit. Make sure the webbing doesn't fold over itself, because it will stick to itself.
-For the shoes you cut off the soles of the sneakers and cut a hole in the sock of the bodysuit (I only cut a hole in the red part and left the blue sock intact to go inside the shoe) so that you have enough fabric to fold over the sides of the soles.
-Put the soles in the suit and glue the fabric to the soles. I also sewed the fabric to the soles in some places.
-When finished: put on the suit and be Spider-Man! :
