WHO: Mothers, babies and HIV: a story of INSPIRE

Описание к видео WHO: Mothers, babies and HIV: a story of INSPIRE

The World Health Organization, with funding from the Canadian Government, implemented the INSPIRE project between 2011-2016. The project enrolled thousands of pregnant women accessing HIV treatment in Malawi, Nigeria and Zimbabwe. It investigated different ways to improve their retention in treatment. The results showed that women supported by their peers – commonly known as “Expert” or “Mentor” mothers – had the highest chance of adhering to treatment, free from HIV.
