1. First Revelation – The Beginning of Prophethood
The Surah opens with the first five verses ever revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. These verses mark the beginning of divine communication and emphasize the role of knowledge, reading, and creation.

“Read in the name of your Lord who created – Created man from a clinging clot.” (Verses 1–2)

These lines highlight that Allah is the Creator and Teacher, and that knowledge is sacred when linked to Allah.

2. The Gift of Knowledge
“Taught man that which he knew not.”
Allah emphasizes how He gave humans the ability to learn and grow. This elevates the value of learning, writing, and intellect.

3. Warning Against Arrogance
Later verses shift focus to warn those who become arrogant and rebellious, forgetting their Creator:

“No! Indeed, man transgresses. Because he sees himself self-sufficient.” (Verses 6–7)
