I fished during some high water on the Middle Fork Willamette River and put in a lot of work just to catch one fish. Good thing it was a nice native rainbow. Had a blast fishing in the rain though with nobody in sight!

With the reservoir draw downs ordered by a federal judge I'm really curious (and very much stressing) about what's to come for the Willamette River system. Right now the Middle Fork Willamette River below Lookout Point and the rest of the main Willamette are completely brown with no water visibility. The reservoirs are being drawn down in an unprecedented way without any studies or info about what will happen to the resident fish in the river systems. For us in the Eugene, OR area it has really affected fishing. I would normally be taking the drift boat out and having a blast doing some Fall fishing on the Middle Willamette close to home this time of year but instead, I'm driving an hour each way to fish high water for one fish. What are your thoughts on what is happening with the reservoirs and the Army Corps of Engineers?
