Topic: Wilderness Experience.
Bible Reading: Matthew 4:1, Gen 2:8.
Lessons to Learn: As Christians, as long as we are in the will of God and We have a very special impact to make in the history of the world or a very important part to play in rewriting the story of our lineage, or generation, or the world at large; we are bound to go through the wilderness experience.
There is no one that God used that was never subjected to some level of grilling, drilling, personal coaching, etc by Him.
God's standard and process stand for ever, it doesn't change. So, if the old Bible characters were tried, we the new generation will be tried. There's no escape. The book of Psalms 34:12 says: "What man is it that desires life, and loves many days, that he may see good." It's telling us that you can't have both long life and problem free life. You can't fulfill God's purpose without going through God's coaching or grilling. Either you don't fulfill purpose and enjoy your life or you go through rigorous exercise and fulfill purpose.
When God made Adam and Eve, He didn't just make them and thrust them into the whole earth, He had to teach them the rudiments of life first, He had to teach them how to handle things, what goes where, what animals were, how to plant, beautify, tend, and even take care of everything and to do this, He needed their full attention; that's why the Garden of Eden.
I urge us today to not see our Wilderness Experience as a time of suffering but a time of learning, knowing, and preparing for the purpose and work of God.
