Eurofighter Typhoon vs Russia’s SU-30 - which would win?
The Eurofighter Typhoon is a twin-engine, canard delta wing, multirole fighter jet. The aircraft was designed by European aerospace companies including Airbus, BAE Systems, and Leonardo. Since its introduction in 2003, the aircraft has been adopted by several airforces around the world. Depending on variant, the jet is operated by a crew of 1 or 2 and can carry 19,800lb of weapon payload. On the other hand, the Su-30, a multirole fighter jet introduced in 1996 and has been in service with numerous airforces around the world. It is operated by a crew of two and has a weapon payload of 18,000lb. The Eurofighter is powered by a pair of turbofan engines producing 40,000 pounds of thrust combined. These powerful engines can push the aircraft to top speed of 1,535mph. The fighter jet can hit supersonic speeds without even using afterburners, which is known as supercruise! The jet's ability to use external fuel tanks allows it to increase its ferry range to 2,350mi and its combat radius to 863mi. While the Su-30 fighter aircraft is propelled by a pair of turbofan engines that generate a combined thrust of 55,120 pounds. This formidable engine configuration allows the jet to achieve a maximum speed of 1,535mph. The aircraft has a ferry range of 1,864mi and a combat radius of 746mi. The Eurofighter’s comes with 13 hardpoints. For long range air-to-air engagements, the fighter jet is armed with Meteor and Aim-120 missiles with 124mi and 100mi of range respectively. For dogfight, the aircraft is armed with a 27mm cannon. When it comes to firepower, the Su-30 is not far behind as it is equipped with 12 weapon stations. For long range air-to-air combat, the jet is armed with R-77 and R-27 missiles with ranges of 120mi and 81mi respectively.Last but not the least, the jet is armed with a 30mm cannon, making it effective in close-range engagements.
