Here is a really awesome - and deceivingly simple - pedal from Matt Gleeson at Monty's Guitars in London. Matt is primarily known for his outstanding pickups - the PAFs in particular - but he also offers this lovely little boost pedal. But what does it do?

On the surface, it's a simple 2-channel JFET boost....you set your desired levels using the little blue trim pots, bolt down the Hex nuts so you won't kick them on stage....and then rock! But it has another trick up its sleeve...

In between the two gain stages, there's a loop. So how can we use this? In this little feature video, I'll show you how you can use the loop to solve a load of problems - and indeed, create some mayhem(!) - with some vintage pedals. Do you want to buffer the input signal to a CE-1 and then boost the output without driving the modulation? Or increase the gain and/or output of your lovely Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal? Maybe send a Tonebender into meltdown? Or compensate for the level drop in old modulation pedals whilst still being able to kick them in the front end when desired? Well....you can probably guess what pedal we can do all of that with! ;-)
