He was called specifically to dispute hearsay claims made by the prosecution's tabloid-profiting witnesses who specifically mentioned him as a victim. The defense did not call any character witnesses, only ones who had direct relevance to the state's case and prosecution witnesses. (Some of these same tabloid witnesses that Culkin disputes in his testimony, are being used in the Wade Robson and James Safechuck civil litigation.)
