Veritium HF Clock (Ham Clock 3.01) MUF Map

I had the HF Clock set to display the Maximum Usable Frequency map. I have found it to be quite accurate at predicting workable propagation. I noticed plenty of blue to green to yellow around the world, but no orange or red. So I tuned around to see if the 10-meter band was indeed “closed” for the evening. It was closed.

Note: Ham Clock version 3.03 included significant changes related to the DX clusters. The DX cluster SysOps threatened to stop allowing Ham Clock to access their servers because the Ham Clock was consuming too much bandwidth. Ham Clock version 3.03 and newer represents significant programming changes to alleviate the load on the DX Cluster servers. But we are encouraged to turn off the Ham Clock or HF Clock when we aren’t in our radio shack and using them. Users of the HF Clock will notice a loss of the ability to tap a callsign in the DX cluster and see the short path plot, beam heading, DX WX, and VOACAP data for the station you click on. The processor in the HF Clock is not powerful enough to keep up with the new programming that was required to minimize the load on the DX cluster servers.
