Realized there wasn't a complete gameplay footage of this game on Youtube, so I might as well upload mine. Released in 1989 by Paragon Software (most well known for their adaptations of GDW's tabletop games), this was one of the first titles that portrayed these character in video game form. The game was released in both Commodore and DOS. This footage is from the DOS version.

If you want to play this, be careful and DO NOT blow up Xavier's statue head at the beginning of the game. Aside from that, the game has a reputation of being hard, but it's honestly not that bad. I'd say that for its time it was one of the most interesting efforts to translate the X-men's powers and personalities for a while. It certainly was better than its simplistic NES counterpart that was released the same year.
