Motherwell in Europe // An adventure cut short

After finishing in fifth place in the cinch Premiership, Graham Alexander and Motherwell qualified for the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Competing on the European stage for the first time since 2020, when no fans were able to come to games, Motherwell were drawn against Irish outfit Sligo Rovers.

As the town of Motherwell came together for the first leg of the second qualifying round, it would be the visitors who would travel back to Ireland with a slender lead. Aiden Keena netted the only goal of the game as Sligo Rovers held on to a 1-0 advantage.

As the side travelled to Sligo a week later, it would be a disappointing and premature end to Motherwell's European campaign as they fell to a 2-0 defeat to Sligo who advanced to the next round.
