I shot this Today Show audience video with a handheld camera (sorry it's a bit shaky - I was being jostled in the crowd a lot). The audience gathers outside the Today Show studios on the Plaza at Rockefeller Center between 49th and 48th Streets in New York.

You don't see it in the video but there's pretty good security all around the space where the anchors and crew do the show. You are checked by a security person with a handheld metal detector before you enter a fenced-in area where more security personnel keep an eye on you. If the metal detector reveals something in your pickets, you're asked to show it to take it out.
