Just like Rama forgot that he was Vishnu, we also tend to forget our true nature, and if you can't see your own light how will you see it in others? Everything exists in the light of Awareness, and you always have the choice whether you attach to a limited story about who you are or give up the mind created narrative and rest in Being. To the mind God is the Supreme Being but to the heart God is more like Beingness Supreme. The only reason you miss the truth is because you want to be caught up in a story line, because it's exciting, you are somebody going somewhere, doing stuff, achieving, growing, learning, when in reality there is no coming no going and nothing is actually happening, what you call your life is just a bubble in the Ocean of Being and it will disappear quicker then you can realize. If you identify with the spacesuit that you are wearing to be here on this Earth then death is most certainly terrible, so rest in your true nature right now, because he/she who dies in the morning need not die in the evening.
