Ofsted consultation: what makes an effective supported accommodation?

We are seeking views on proposals for how we will inspect supported accommodation for looked after children and care leavers aged 16 to 17.

In this short video, Claire, care-experienced consultant with Coram Voice, talks to Helen Humphreys, His Majesty’s Inspector and Specialist Adviser for Residential Care, about the main features of effective supported accommodation.

Your views will help shape the final evaluation criteria, in addition to existing research and the views of care-experienced community.

Our consultation runs from 10 July to 8 September 2023. It will inform our arrangements for inspections starting in April 2024.
