HIGHLIGHTS: Mike Clevinger Tosses Complete Game in Victory Over Washington (9.18.23)

Mike Clevinger made his 22nd start of the season, 11th on the road and first against Washington. He tossed a complete game with 6 hits, 1 run and 7 strikeouts.

La Pantera got us on the board in the 5th! Luis Robert Jr. homered on a line drive to left center field, a 3-run blast for his 36th home run of the season.

The Good Guys added on more runs in the 6th. Andrew Vaughn singled on a ground ball to Lane Thomas to drive in Yoán Moncada. Elvis Andrus’ RBI single brought home Andrew Vaughn, followed by Andrew Benintendi’s RBI single to score Elvis. The runs extended the White Sox lead to 6-0.

With one out remaining in the 9th, Dominic Smith homered to put the Nats on the board.

The Chicago White Sox defeated the Washington Nationals, 6-1, at Nationals Park in Washington D.C.
