Besugé - Guruprasad & Deepashree Residence

Plot Size: 9M X 12M ( 30’ x 40’ - Road Access on South)

Located in Judicial Layout in Jakkur, North Bangalore, this 18 year old structure had outgrown its original requirements both in space and the occupants lifestyle. Over the next 15 months, this 3500 SFT Residence underwent an elaborate, extensive renovation and emerged as a new building with specifications and features to aspire for.

Our consultancy work commenced from deep interacting with the occupants, getting insights into their lifestyles and more importantly what is it which they were in quest of. The having lived there for nearly two decades ...with their previous experience in Home Building, our Clients were very clear with what they were looking for.

Solutions were explored and discussed and reassessed. Over the course of our interactions, as we learnt about each other, we realized that there was actually a much higher aspiration that could be achieved in the building.

With the knowledge of a good Civil Contractor team supporting & backing us, we were able to take our Structural Engineer into confidence and pushed the envelope of what could be done with this load bearing building. The resulting change was a shot in the arm for the Project.... with quality, values of architecture that was both aesthetic and inspiring.

"Besugé" in Kannada means “bonding”.

This building is not only a bond between all of us who were involved and who worked on the project, but it marks a special bond for us at Etagi Design Collaborative, where we had an exceptional Client connect over a unique project.

May such a bonding continue.
