How to fix a chip on a knife

Описание к видео How to fix a chip on a knife

This is the first video of me talking. I describe my way of removing a nasty chip from a beautiful Shun knife.

I get a baseline sharpness score from my bess scale.

I protect the edge with green frog tape.

Starting with 80 grit cubitron belt to remove most of the material from the edge, being very cautious not to overheat the knife.

Progressing through my normal knife sharpening system, I then go to 120 grit cubitron belt.

Refining the edge with an A30 (600 grit trizact belt).

Finally finishing with an A16 (1200 grit trizact belt).

I then use my leather strop to remove any burr left over and finally test the knife again on my Bess scale and get great results and able to cut cigarette rolling paper.
