Amazing Aomori, Japan in Winter

Aomori prefecture is located in the northernmost area of Honshū island and is the home of Natural World Heritage sites such as Shirakamisanchi, Towada Lakeand Hakkōda, Mount Iwaki, the Hotokegaura Gulf of the Shimokita Peninsulaand other places with amazing natural landscapes, which make this region one of the most beautiful parts of Japan.

Winters in Aomori are very cold, and the region is known as one of the few places with heavy snowfall in Japan. But that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t go to Aomori in winter! There are actually seafood dishes that can be tasted only during the cold season, as well as amusements that can be enjoyed only when it is snowing.
