Y&R is axed from New Zealand television after 35 years of screening (Friday 6th November 2009)

Here are a few excerps from Y&Rs' final screening here.
We were up to the 2005 storyline.

This is how it ended here in New Zealand...
Just a sentence or 2 from an announcer during the end credits and the curtain drops,the sun sets,the axe falls on 35 years of television viewing in the weekday lunchtime slot.

Y&R was removed due to low viewer count ratings and Television New Zealands want to show a brand new line up of afternoon shows.
Coincidentally in the same week,Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) leaves the show in the US.

In a kindof irony,in the last scene shown here,Lily Winters has difficulty accepting the new harsh environment she is in.
Likewise Y&R fans here would have felt sensitive too,as they are forced to accept the new situation they are now in.
A future without their favourite soap.

Y&R will be greatly missed by their loyal fans here,but thanx to youtube and the internet it aint completely over for some,however not all is available,so searching will still leave storyline gaps :-(
Ppl are petitioning etc to try and have the show bought back.
