In the Rattanakosin period, the most important and clear evidence of the creation of Buddha images was found during the reign of King Rama III, who created Buddha images in traditional attire.

At the beginning of the announcement there was a list of 60 important Buddha images, which came from a list determined by His Royal Highness Prince Damrong Rajanubhab in the book "Legends of Important Buddha Images of Thailand". Later the Fine Arts Department considered studying and considering additional important Buddha images according to the criteria mentioned above and made an additional announcement with a list of 134 important Buddha images in total, as they appear in the book published by the Office of Literature and History titled "Important Buddha Images".

In this study, important Buddha images were selected from the list of important Buddha images of the Fine Arts Department as the main study. Only some images were selected according to the three conditions of importance of the Fine Arts Department. However, the author will analyze the art forms and their relationship with legends and present them in order of the art historical periods.

1. Emerald Buddha
