The data and animations speak for themselves and show the incontrovertible Greatness and Supremacy of this immense champion over a period of time that was (before him) unthinkable and that has already come to cover 15 years of career: first time in position No.1 of the ATP Ranking in 2004, first Slam won in 2003.
🏆 Part 1: The 2018 tennis season
Federer started his 2018 tennis season winning the Hopman Cup partnering with Belinda Bencic. This was his second Hopman Cup title having won previously in 2001 partnering with Martina Hingis. At the 2018 Australian Open, Federer successfully defended his title beating Marin Čilić in a five-set final, having reached the final without dropping a set. This was Federer's sixth title at the Australian Open, equalling the record held by Roy Emerson and Novak Djokovic, as well as becoming the first man to win twenty Grand Slam titles. It was also the first time since the 2008 US Open that Federer successfully defended a major title.
In mid-February, Federer won his third Rotterdam Open title to return to No. 1 in the ATP rankings. At 36 years and 195 days of age, he became the oldest ATP world No. 1 by more than three years.
🏆 Part 2: ATP No.1
On June 18, 2018, Federer started his 310th week at No.1 of the ATP Ranking. Sampras is in second place with 286 weeks, as shown in this video, which includes an animation that shows the positions occupied by Federer in the ATP Ranking, starting from his entry in the top 100 in the world. In this animation is also shown the percentage of "ownership" of the first position made by Federer, which comes to over 40% if you calculate it from his first day at No.1 ATP: since he became No.1, Federer has held the first position for almost half of the time, between 2004 and today! Awesome! Amazing!
The video then shows the Ranking of consecutive weeks at No.1, in which Federer is first with 237 and Connors second with 160.
🏆 Part 3: Grand Slam Tournaments
In January 2018 Federer won his 20th Grand Slam Tournament. Nadal is second with 16 victories, as shown in the video, in which we have included an animation that shows the results obtained by Federer in the Grand Slam Tournaments from 2003 until today, first worldwide and then divided according to geographical allocation.
The video also shows the “Most Grand Slam Singles Titles: all time & open era” Rankings and the “Most Consecutive Grand Slam Singles Finals” Ranking.
🏆 Part 4: ATP Tournaments
In February 2018 Federer won his 97th ATP title, approaching the record holder Connors, who won 109 Tournaments, even if among these there are tournaments of little importance, with few participants.
In this regard, we have prepared a geographic and temporal animation that shows (in 2D and 3D) the geographical distribution of the 97 titles won by Federer, first at the level of the entire terrestrial globe, then for Europe alone, for North America and finally for Asia and Australia.

'The Dominance Index' (D.I.) is a New Intergenerational Ranking that makes a comparison between the tennis champions from 1973 onwards since the ATP started to publish its weekly ATP Rankings.
