In the remote hills of Gajapati district, Odisha, the education system is crumbling.
At Bandhaguda Primary School, 33 students from Sishu Vatika to Class 5 study together in one damaged classroom with only five teachers — no drinking water, no toilets. A few kilometers away, Patharagada Upper Primary School has 51 students but just two teachers to handle eight classes.
