Provisional cast on for knitting using the crochet chain method

This video demonstrates how to cast on stitches for knitting using a provisional cast on method. Provisional cast ons enable you to later undo your cast on and pick up stitches from it, and they're useful for such applications as working in both directions of your knitting or creating an enclosed shape. Specifically, I like to use the crochet chain method of this technique.
