Gundam Breaker 4 Review - The Final Verdict

While Gundam has seen its share of video games over the years, the Gundam Breaker series caters to a specific crowd: Those who want to build and customize the mechs. From that perspective alone, Gundam Breaker 4 is somewhat of a success, offering extensive tools and hundreds of kits to play around with.

However, it's also a hack-and-slash title with a story, characters, and various missions. It falters on all three fronts, from presenting an uninteresting plot and a cliched cast (where the player often feels secondary) to offering repetitive gameplay with boring mission objectives.

Even the gameplay, which provides several weapon types and customization options, lacks significant depth. Gundam Breaker 4 fulfils its purpose of catering to hobbyists who don't want to break the bank and Gundam fans who seek some mindless action, but it simply falls short in almost every other way.
