DAMA Visa Australia, New South Wales

Designated Area Migration Agreements known as DAMA's are a great and almost secure pathway to permanent residency.

Businesses can generally only sponsor migrants that meet strict eligibility criteria. The DAMA relaxes these criteria for attributes such as English languages skills, age and minimum income requirements.

Occupations in high demand such as security officers, truck drivers, fruit pickers and primary school teachers (which are usually not eligible for sponsorships in metropolitan areas) are among 129 on the DAMA list that offers concessions.

The aim of this reform is to address the chronic labour and skills shortages across regional NSW and because of this need, the process to get sponsored or being able to sponsor is quicker and prioritised.

It is really best placed for those visa holders who are onshore already holding visas that give them permission to work anywhere such as Working Holiday visas or are finding hard to get sponsored in metropolitan areas. For offshore potential applicants, it would be difficult to secure a sponsor but not impossible.
