This video is about the book, Clan of the Cave Bear, written by Jean Auel and publishes in 1980. A movie was made of the book, starring Darryl Hannah, in 1986. This book is one of mu favorites and I watched the movie again and decided to talk you about the story of Aayla, a Cro-Magnon girls who ends up living with a group of Neanderthal people called the Clan of the Cavebear. Aayla has to make herself smaller and smaller to become what they want a woman to be, but she never loses her strength. She adapts, survives, and defies the strictures her society puts on her. Aayla inspires us to adapt--yes, survive--yes, but also to defy and thrive! Please check out this book and/or movie.
