TIG Welding Tips: Walking the Cup

Josh Welton, owner of Brown Dog Welding, shares tips for “walking the cup”. Commonly used in pipe welding, walking the cup provides greater stability than traditional TIG welding techniques because the nozzle of the TIG torch rests directly on the material. Due to the weaving motion used when walking the cup, this technique is known for creating aesthetically pleasing welds.
