I'mKolokytha is a small seagull island located in the north of Crete, 3.1 km (1.9 mi) from Elounda, opposite the Spinalonga peninsula, 12 km north of Agios Nikolaos and very close to Elounda. Between these two coasts there is a sheltered bay with the very beautiful sandy beach of Kolokytha. The beach with the clear blue waters is located below the modern church of Agios Loukas, from where a short path to the sea starts. Kolokytha Beach offers various recreational activities such as snorkeling and hiking. The best time to visit Kolokytha beach is during the summer months (June-August) when the weather is warm and sunny.

•An easy way to get to Pumpkin Beach is by boat. The ship Europe as well as the other ships of Aeolos Cruises transport you safely and easily to enjoy your meal and dives at the beach, as well as stopping at the island of Spinalonga where your tour guide gives a tour and a historical overview of the island.
