Interview with AJ Newell, University of South Florida Head Women's Golf Coach

AJ Newell is from Tampa, Florida and was hired as the University of South Florida's Head Women's Golf Coach on June 3, 2024. Newell comes to USF after three years as Assistant Women's Golf Coach at the University of Michigan. Newell played on the Symetra Tour from 2016-2020 and played on the LPGA Tour in 2018. Newell retired from professional golf in 2020 due to a back injury and surgery. Newell played college golf at the University of Tennessee where she led the Volunteers to four straight NCAA Regional bids, two National Championship appearances, and finished tied for 7th individually at the 2015 National Championship. AJ has a sister Anna, who is currently an Assistant Women's Golf Coach at the University of Tennessee
