DAY 3:
We left Moalboal by bus around 11 am and arrived in Cebu City at 3 pm. Then took a taxi going to our home for 4 days, One Oasis. A big thank you to my cousin for letting us stay there and Sir Vinnie for taking care of us even if we haven't met personally just yet.
As soon as we fixed our things at the condo, we proceeded to walk to Ekit's Food Haus for our late lunch while debating if we should go ahead and rent a motorbike or leave it for tomorrow. We had Pochero, which is the same as Bulalo. The Pochero dish we are used to is like Nilagang Baboy but with tomato, so we were a bit surprised. Our favorite dish for lunch was the Kilawin na Guso. The sour dish woke us up after that tiring bus ride lol.
After lunch, we took a grab taxi going to ZG Motorbike Rental so we can easily go around Cebu, cheaper too. The available scooter that afternoon was a Honda Beat and we were hoping to rent a bigger bike with at least 150cc so we could use it to go drive in the new CCLEX Bridge. So we ended up deciding with using the Honda Beat first then we go back the next day to exchange for the Aerox which will be available then.
After paying for our rented motorbike, we visit Magellan's Cross and looked for a Sto. Nino dress my mama asked me to buy. We walked and went to Fort San Pedro but it was closed already because of an event. So we just walked more and went to Plaza Independencia. For dinner, we had halo-halo in one of Melton's branches because we were still full. This halo-halo - delicious! The mango made it better and the ube ice cream doesn't taste like the commercial ice creams. Good good!
DAY 4:
We've been used to waking up early the past couple of days so this was no different. As soon as the clock struck 6 am, we went outside to see what we could buy for breakfast if there were stores selling pandesal and coffee but what we saw was better. There were 2 stalls selling cooked meals just right outside the gates of the condo and it was affordable too!
After breakfast, it rained haha so we weren't able to go out as early as we wanted. We were able to start our "tour" before 9 am and the sun was starting to come out again and it was hot! We went to Taboan Market to check out pasalubong, we just bought 2 bags of 1 kg dried mango, cheaper than the smaller packets.
Then we went to the Temple of Leah - Entrance P100 per person. The truth is, sorry to say, but it wasn't worth that fee. Sure, the place is big and grandiose but so little to see. We were hoping to see more, what if those things Leah owned were in glass cabinets instead of rooms bounded by walls or whatever you call that grid thingy haha. Let me know in the comments, it's on the tip of my tongue but couldn't write it down or say it lol! We were hoping to see more, not just the statues. Maybe descriptions of her things, what they were or why were they important to her, that sort of thing. Landscaping would be something nice to see here but maintenance would be something they will need to consider.
Next up, Tops Lookout Cebu. If you have food, I think you can eat here and the view is better here. We didn't bother going to the restaurant too, we just came to see the view.
Lunchtime! Food, our favorite part of the day! We grabbed our phones to look for House of Lechon or CNT on Google Maps. So the nearest we saw was House of Lechon but when we got there, it was just a take-out Lechon stall, not a place to dine in. So the next nearest one was Rico's Lechon in Ayala Mall. We ordered Spicy Lechon Baka, Spicy Lechon, and Classic Halo-halo. The food was good, the Lechon skin was not crispy at all BUT it was really tasty and soft, easy to chew. The Lechon Baka was so so good! But I couldn't handle the heat lol, I removed the chilis on top and did not dip the meat in the spicy oil haha! But it was delicious and not fatty or oily at all!
After another late lunch, we headed to Fort San Pedro and went around but we were so tired especially my driver haha because there were so many areas with traffic plus the stoplights that had as much as 200 seconds?! OMG, that long and it was so hot & humid! We were tired, a bit heat & traffic grumpy and dirty from the street pollution & dirt. The redeeming part is dinner. Dinner was just spectacular, we ate Sugba tuna panga, Suglaw, and baked scallops in STK Ta Bai. It's a good thing that we went early (4:30 pm the doors opened for us before 5 pm) because when it was 5:30 people started arriving, and there were a lot! A lot of people waiting to be seated too. So this made us end the day happy.
