Stokes' Law for Laminar Flow - A Level Physics

Описание к видео Stokes' Law for Laminar Flow - A Level Physics

This video introduces and explains Stokes' Law for laminar flow for A Level Physics.

Stokes' Law applied to the motion of falling objects through fluids - providing a number of conditions are met: the velocity is relatively low, there is laminar flow and the object is a sphere. I look at the equation for Stokes' Law (the Navier Stokes equation) and also how the terminal velocity of a falling object is related to a number of factors - including the viscosity, radius of the sphere and density of the sphere and the fluid it is falling through.

The experiment you see me doing can be used to find the coefficient of viscosity of a fluid. This is an important experiment in fluid dynamics and demonstrates the relationship between viscosity and fluid flow.
