Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and the Two Types of Artist

Описание к видео Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and the Two Types of Artist

Leonard Cohen Bob Dylan and a meeting in a Parisian café - one of the greatest anecdotes in rock history (and indeed art history). Bob Dylan Leonard Cohen enter said Parisian café and discuss songwriting. They are two of the greatest songwriters ever and yet they have completely different styles of songwriting. Today's episode compares these styles of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen to Nietzsche's philosophy of the three styles of thinking(as discussed in our earlier episode    • Nietzsche on the Three Styles of Thin...  ) - gangasrotagati moving like the ganges, mandeikogati moving like a frog and kumagati moving like a tortoise. Dylan's style is very much like Nietzsche's - gangasrotagati; it moves swiftly on cascading with flowing inspiration. In comparison to Dylan Cohen is the epitome of Kurmagati; he could take years to write a single song.
