I still had some of the logs left and was stuck, trying to workout what I wanted turn with them…
So i picked a piece that was about 11” in length and about 4” in diameter. After noticing a couple of natural inclusions, I came up with the idea, to place the one thing that caused the piece to end up on my lathe inside the log, framed by the inclusions. Egro the title “Fire in the hole”....

I found hollowing out to be very tough, due to the hollowing tool catching on the inclusions, the same goes for the sanding - (so its not the finest finish on the inside). I went as thin as i dared with the walls and am really pleased with the shape.
