The 2025 BMW F900XR has landed, and we've been putting it through its paces to see if BMW's updates have made this sports tourer worth your hard-earned cash. Spoiler alert: this might be the most underrated bike in their entire lineup.

We've spent a couple of weeks testing the updated F900XR on everything from daily commutes to long highway slogs, and the results might surprise you. While everyone's talking about the flashier S1000XR or looking at the Yamaha Tracer 9, this middle child of BMW's adventure-sport range has been quietly getting on with being brilliant at almost everything.

The 895cc parallel twin pumps out 105hp and 93Nm of torque, but it's how BMW has tuned this engine that really impresses. The new dynamic mode has proper bite now, and that quick shifter? Absolutely flawless. Plus, at 216kg wet, it's properly manageable for everyday riding.

BMW's made some smart updates for 2025 too - lighter wheels, adjustable forks (about time!), and improved wind protection that actually works.

But is it all good news? Not quite. That rear brake feels like mush and the seat's firmer than a tax inspector's handshake.

So should you choose this over the Tracer 9 or the S1000XR? We've ridden them all, and the answer might not be what you expect.
