“It’s our dream to have a Hella Grip Homie in every country on the planet (and Mars, circa 2052). If anyone can teach a penguin to ride a scooter in Antarctica, I can guarantee we’d be hookin’ up that penguin with some griptape (and several hoodies, of course). Don’t worry; whoever teaches that penguin is def getting hooked up too. While we clearly have global/interplanetary aspirations, it’s still important for us to support our local community of riders. After all, they’ve been our foundation since we started HG nearly 10 years ago. Which brings me to the real subject of today’s announcement… Oliver Sekel. @oliversekel happens to be one of those local Bay Area riders who’ve been down for the cause since way back in the day. The dude also shreds hard... like buttery-grind-combos-for-daaaays hard. I know it’s a little selfish, but it feels really good to announce a new Hella Grip Homie. It feels even better when you get to announce a local Homie that you’ve personally seen put in work to get to the skill-level that they’re at today. It feels triple-amazing when that rider also happens to be a genuine great person for humanity. Who knows? Maybe Oliver will end up on the first handful of missions to Mars, and we’ll finally have our first Hella Grip Martian Homie. My head will explode if he brings a talented penguin on that mission to the Red Planet.” by the Boss McMasher ..
