Installing a Strat Bridge Pickup Base Plate

I decided to try out the base plate on the Rumpelstiltskin Experience pickups to see if I could get a little more punch out of the bridge pickup. This time I used wax as a sealer instead of silicon. So far, I have not noticed a lot of difference. I think it takes a while for the plate to settle in. For some reason, I seem to notice a little difference in the other pickups too. On past installations, I took the tape off that goes in between the plate and the pickup as an insulator. I thought I got more effect out of the plate without the tape. This time I kept the tape on since I was using wax to secure the plate. If you don't put wax of silicon to secure the plate it will rattle and squeal like a pig. I think the hair dryer worked great to melt the wax quickly. Be sure to cut that little bit of extra ground wire that hangs out.
