Many foreign manufacturers came to India and gave tough competition to homegrown brands. San Engineering and Locomotive group, famous for their engineering machinery, tried to make a convertible sports car with the LeMans design group from France. After two years of R&D, the Storm was finally launched with a Renault petrol engine.


The affordable sportscar was a disaster. Electrical and interior components were borrowed. Panel gaps were so huge that you could pass your hand through them. Being entirely handmade was the reason for quality issues. Due to the low sales, it was discontinued in 2013.
