A very enjoyable afternoon session at Burnham station on the Great Western Mainline where we see plenty of services from Great Western Railway. There isn't really a great deal to tell about this station.

Burnham station was opened in 1899 by the Great Western Mainline and was first named Burnham Beeches. The station itself resides in the county of Buckinghamshire. The station was then later renamed Burnham (Bucks) in 1930 right up until 1975 when it was just named Burnham.

The only real significant thing to happen to this station was during WW1 when the station was forced to close as an economy measure. The cause of this being if they shut the station down then it meant that there was no money being wasted on a station that doesn't generate that much money. However it was reopened in 1919.

It was in 2017 when the station was officially handed over to TFL Rail for preparation of the Elizabeth Line next year.

My next station is Slough.
