Off-grid camping in the African Bush | Matamba Bush Camp | Limpopo Province | South Africa

We recently spent a weekend winter camping with a group of friends at Matamba Bush Camp, situated near the town of Vaalwater, in the Limpopo Province of South Africa.

Matamba is located inside a private game farm. We stayed at Mara's Camp, a private camp inside Matamba. Mara's Camp is off-grid, so a good battery and solar panel are essential. There are two outdoor ablutions, open to them elements which offer a unique experience. The ablutions and camp site are well maintained, and cleaned daily.

There is another camp site within Matamba called Tau Camp Site. This camp offers electrified stands for those who are looking for a bush camp experience, but don't have the necessary solar equipment.

My 4x4 offramp camping trailer is a Metalian Bowhunter trailer with a Tentco Junior TTT. My vehicle is a Ford Ranger Wildtrak (Thunder Edition) 2.0l bi-turbo diesel, with a Front Runner Slimline II rack fitted over the load bed, a Front Runner SlimSport rack on the roof, and a Front Runner Roof Top Tent.
