Hi, I'm Matt with etrailer. Today, we're gonna talk about the Titan chain-assisted tensioning tire chains on our 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Now, these are gonna be a great option for you if you are looking for something that's gonna give you extra traction for those moderate snow and ice situations, and something that's really easy to get on your tires compared to some other options out there. So let's check it out. Now, something that is important to note that we have this on tire size 275/60R20, but this will still fit a variety of other sizes out there. Now, if you're not sure if this is gonna fit your vehicle, you can put in your vehicle's information into our fit guide to make sure you're getting the right one that fit your needs.
There's a few things that really stand out to me about these and because, like I said earlier, these are gonna have some links on 'em that are fairly large. And those larger links are gonna be perfect for going through moderate snow and ice conditions 'cause they just have more to grab onto. Now, something to think about with that size though is typically for this vehicle, it recommends only to have Class S chains, and these are just slightly larger than Class S. Actually, if I put my hand back here, we still have a decent amount of space between our suspension and our vehicle. But it's really important that you keep these tight so they don't make contact with anything.
But the other thing that stands out to me about these is, like I was saying earlier, they're easy to put on. So what I mean by that, a lot of chains out there, you have to get underneath your vehicle, you're getting in some snow, water, ice, it's not very fun. These, I don't have to get underneath my vehicle. I can do this all from the front, right next to the tire right here without having to lay on the ground. So that's why I really like these.
Now, when it comes to some of the chain features, like I said, they're gonna have plenty of bite to them since they do have the square design, and we're gonna have this diamond pattern. And what that diamond pattern does is this gives us more surface area, more coverage on the tire. And that's gonna give us more traction when we're driving around, especially making any turns. And these chains are gonna be made from a nickel manganese alloy steel. So what that means for us is they're gonna be more corrosion-resistant.
So they're gonna last a longer amount of time, also be more durable than some more affordable chains out there. Something that I do like a lot about this is that we do have this assisted tension system on here. So there's no need to buy any additional items that go on here like a rubber tensioner you typically put on a chain. This is already built into the design. And the way it works is we're gonna have a viewpoint that it connects to and it pulls tension against it. And then we're gonna have the rubber section here. And that rubber section, what it's designed to do is when you're driving around, typically, your chain is gonna shift. And when they do shift, they loosen up. And this is gonna remain nice and tight. So when they do loosen up, you'll still have tension over here. And you are gonna have two chains that come with this kit. So you can put 'em both on the rear tires like the manual recommends. And you are gonna get this bag. And I like this bag a lot 'cause one, it is a soft case so it's not gonna like be super brutal like some plastic cases out there, and it's just easy to handle. And what I really like about it is what's on the inside. (zipper buzzes) So when I open it up, you can see my other chain that's in here, and it's in this little pocket. Those pockets are great for this style of chain because with this style of chain, that's a lot of slack here, and typically it'll get tangled up. But with these pockets, that can prevent that from happening. You're gonna have one on either side. Now, in my opinion, I think this is gonna be a solid option for anyone who is driving through moderate snow and ice conditions 'cause the chains are gonna last a long time. They're gonna have plenty of bite to get through those situations, and you won't have to get into that deeper snow to install them laying on the ground. All of it's gonna be from the outside over on the
