The MEGA REGINA is a ferry operated by the Corsica Sardinia Ferries. Originally built as MARIELLA at the Finnish Wärtsilä-Perno shipyard in Turku, it was operated by the Finnish Viking Line until the spring of 2021.

The ship was launched on September 28, 1984, and entered service for SF Line (now Viking Line) on May 17, 1985. When MARIELLA started operations, she was the first Viking Line ship to serve the Helsinki – Mariehamn – Stockholm route that was not owned by Ab Sally. With a few exceptions for maintenance work, MARIELLA served the same route until her sale in 2021, setting the record for the longest continuous service on the Helsinki–Stockholm route. Upon completion, MARIELLA was the world's largest ferry in terms of carrying capacity and passenger capacity.

During the sinking of ESTONIA in 1994, MARIELLA was the first ship to arrive at the scene of the disaster. The crew was able to rescue 15 survivors from the water, and another 11 survivors were rescued by helicopter and brought on board. MARIELLA served as a helicopter base during the rescue operation.

In the summer season of 1996, MARIELLA carried out short cruises from Helsinki to Tallinn. However, these cruises, which took place during the ship's nine-hour stay in Helsinki, did not find the expected response and were not offered again after the season.

To continue offering duty-free goods on board after the abolition of tax-free sales in the EU, a stopover in Mariehamn was introduced in July 1999. The resale of goods is possible because Åland is exempt from regulations on turnover and consumption taxes in the European Union due to a special regulation.

In September 2000, MARIELLA was equipped with stabilizers and a new, fast lifeboat in Naantali. During this shipyard stay, the interior was also renovated. The disco was moved from deck 8 to deck 7. For some time, MARIELLA bore the inscription Updated 06/10 2000 on her hull.

Another major refit took place in September 2006, also in Naantali. During this refit, a restaurant, the perfume shop, and duty-free shop were completely redesigned. In addition, a completely new restaurant was created next to the Food Garden Restaurant.

In May 2021, MARIELLA was sold to Corsica Sardinia Ferries and renamed MEGA REGINA in June. The ship finally entered service a few weeks later, at the end of July 2021.

The sister ship of the MEGA REGINA is the PRINCESS ANASTASIA (formerly OLYMPIA, PRIDE OF BILBAO, BILBAO).
