In this video I explain one of the most used tools for making folding knives, the Ruple guage. It is also called a rise fall indicator, rise fall guage etc. I also do a comparison between factory and custom knife tang geometry. Then Ill show you how to improvise a Ruple guage if you dont have one in your shop. They are expensive and necessary but you dont neccessarly need to have one on hand as long as you understand how it works.

This is the third video in the series and we will explore not only the mechanics of building the knife but also the knife shop, tools techniques and some safety concerns. I am relatively new to the art of folding knives. I have made a couple in the past with varying degrees of success. I am now in a learning phase and taking you along for the ride. When this knife and series is complete I will be GIVING IT AWAY to one of you and then we can start the next build.
