Описание к видео After 5 months of practice. Study material in description.

I acquired the instrument in January 29th 2021. Ever since I have practiced playing more or less daily ranging from 10 minutes to several hours, occasionally having 2-3 day breaks. I work a 9-5 job, so it leaves me not much of time to study in the free time and I've also started learning about visual art at the same time inspired by the instrument. Hence I wanted to optimize my learning, and still am eager to do so in the future. This is all part of the Project Infinity Box, my way of learning.

This is how far I have come without any background in music except I have always enjoyed music and dancing. About 5 months.

I started learning about music theory after acquiring the instrument (just the basics). I have also been studying some youtubers to get some direction:

   • Hang Handpan Tutorial for Beginners  Part ...

Ambient Guitar: An excellent articulate master of knowledge, but not much of a kick. He is very soft and kind with his teaching. Very good for beginners. I suggest his Lessons 1 to 9, he said he'd be doing 10, but unfortunately one is missing. Tried to take everything in that he says. He is a good teacher.

   / @davidkuckhermann

David Kuckhermann: Master of technique, staying in rhythm and very versatile in his beats. (He looks oddly similar with myself sometimes.) His teaching is on point, he has good quality sound and video. More towards the intermediate-adept players in his newer production. Shout out to the older videos from some ripped VHS-tapes he is in, also good for beginners. I try to focus learning on the notation style and his accuracy and speed.

   / @rosiebergonzi

Rosie Bergonzi: A soothing and a kind teacher, has knowledge on musical theory but explains it in a way where you don't need previous knowledge on it. Good for beginners and intermediate hobbyists. I studied the harmonics in particular.

   / @handpan360

Handpan 360: Has good things to say, but kinda doesn't know how to say them. He seems to get bored with his own teaching, but if you can bear the occasional giggles, he has a point. Good for beginners at least from what I studied. I tried to focus on learning 4/4 rhythm from him. In my honest opinion, he should venture towards making art instead of teaching. He is a good player.

And to the additional youtubers without handpans:

For music theory Andrew Huang:    / andrewhuang

This guy has a 30 min introduction to it. He is very commercialised, so it brings a boring twist to the teaching, but it's a lot of information he packs in a short period of time. I suggest everyone to study this before you start learning the handpan, it will help you immensely. (I am leaving this advice here and not up at the top because I am a bit of a jester and want to filter out anyone without motivation to read long texts. It takes motivation, persistance and consistency to learn an instrument.) He also has some good polyrhythm lessons.

How to make music by Pat Pattison:    • IMRO Songwriting Seminar With Pat Pattison
A good lesson on what is music about, how do you wiggle around with it. Nice tools for everyday life aswell if you know how to use them.

Philosophy of drumming:    / @drumtalkofficial
Drumtalk: The guy interviews very famous drummers. I suggest especially listening to the episode 40 with Vigil Donati. The interviewer Philipp Koch asks really good questions from people who have been doing one thing in their life for their whole life basically. Good stuff for motivation and persistance.

How to learn and modify yourself?
   / @hubermanlab

Andrew Huberman: An American neurologist who knows what he's talking about, in a way that you will also understand it. He will teach you what the human mind and body is made of, and how to modify it to your needs. Highly recommend learning these things while you study the instrument.

There are most likely way more things that I have forgotten to bookmark or remember. These are just the ones that really made an impact.

Good luck and enjoy the journey.
